What is a PICU?

A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides the highest level of care for children beyond the newborn period who are critically ill, medically unstable, or require close monitoring and intervention. At Pritam Children's Hospital, our PICU is equipped to handle a wide range of pediatric emergencies and complex conditions. When to bring your child to the PICU? If your child has high-grade fever with altered consciousness, severe breathing difficulty, persistent seizures, or is unresponsive — head to the Emergency OPD immediately. Our team will assess and admit to PICU if needed.
